About Us

The Golden Acres Hockey School was founded in the 1970’s by a group of men looking to achieve the same goal of developing youth. The original founders of the school were: Lyle Giffin, Bob Fox, Mick Gray, Doug Johnston, Ivan Warriner and Dan Oliphant. The school operated for over a decade and has seen many of their graduates move on to successful careers in a lot of different fields.

How We Got Started

In 2016, The Golden Acres Hockey School was resurrected by a group of local men interested in providing a week long hockey camp for the youth in our community, and beyond, based on the same principles of the original school. The current school offers over 2 hours of on-ice hockey instruction combined with off-ice stick handling instruction, team building and leadership activities, dryland training, informative educational seminars and off-ice games each day.
